Collect your foil!

Welcome back to Term 2! For those of you still enjoying the remains of Easter chocolate, remember that aluminum foil is extremely recyclable.

Simply scrunch multiple pieces of foil together into a ball and place this into your kerbside recycling bin. Even better, try to preference aluminum over other materials when purchasing food and drink and recycle aluminum in all forms. Recycling aluminum into new products requires very little energy, saving 90-95% of the energy needed as opposed to producing aluminum from scratch (taking uneconomically from Earth’s natural resources).Tip: keep a container for collecting small pieces of foil so that you can include these together with larger pieces for scrunching into a ball. Make sure that even small pieces are recycled too - think chocolate wrapping and foil seals on gravy/stock tins.

Recycling Rewards

Introducing the Wonder Recycling Rewards Campaign that will run throughout Term 2. Trinity is taking part and it couldn’t be any simpler to recycle your soft plastic bread and wrap bags of any brand.

After use…1. Shake out any crumbs (and ensure the plastic bag is dry) 2. Collect all bags that you have used (store multiple inside each other for ease of collecting and transport) 3. Bring collected bags to school and place them within the Wonder Recycling Boxes at the Trinity Reception or in the Year 7 foyer. 4. That’s it! Now thanks to your collection efforts we earn points to exchange for sports equipment. Not to mention the massive win for the environment that is diverting all that soft plastic from landfill. Happy collecting.
