Basketball Champions – Congratulations

After many months of early morning practices led by highly dedicated and experienced Coach Jesse Harberger, the Fairhills High School senior boys basketball team played their first basketball competition (Knox District) on Tuesday 13th July at Knox Basketball Stadium. They began their campaign with a comfortable victory over Boronia K-12 with a 64-15 win. The boys continued that hot start and carried it with them into the next game against Wantirna with a 44-26 win. After such a great start the team ran into a little bit of trouble drawing 34-34 against Upwey High School.

To cement themselves into the Grand Final, the boys knew that they had to win and beat their next opponent which was Rowville West. The boys came out strong and held a 10 point lead the whole game and finished the game winning 45-33. The Grand Final was between the top two teams of the competition - Fairhills and Wantirna. The first half was a tightly contested match with Fairhills leading 18-16 at the end of the half. At this point they had two players with injuries and another couple in foul trouble. However, the boys rallied behind one another and came out victorious beating Wantirna 34-28. The team now progress to the regional competition.  Well done to you all.

Well done to the team:
