Principal's News

The Dandenong Ranges

Dear Families,

This week I have featured more beautiful places in Victoria to remind ourselves that we are still very lucky to live in such a naturally beautiful state. We are getting closer to the end which is finally in sight. As staff say 'we are over hump week' - Only 4 weeks till holidays.

A big thankyou to our School Captain Finn who has been  working hard developing  his leadership skills by showing great initiative as  Editor in chief  of the Trinity Times! Edition One is attached.  Circulations numbers are through the roof and there is huge demand from local Trinity journalist to be printed in Edition 2. We can't wait Finn.

School Closure Day Reminder

As previously advised we had moved one of our Professional Learning days this term to Friday 4th September when Leaders from The Catholic Education Office will work with all our staff (via Zoom) on our pre-review work. There will be no school onsite or remotely on this day for students.

Student Learning

Our teachers are working very hard on delivering the best quality student learning in the most challenging of times. Like our wonderful students, the staff are also proving that they are lifelong learners and are willing to risk take and experiment with new ways to improve learning outcomes for all our children. I have seen some some great examples of learning and teaching when I browse through Seasaw and Google Classroom but mostly I think most of all our teachers and students are in line for the Gold or Silver Logie - Best Australian actors.

How well does Amy articulate herself reflecting on her learning?

Meet our staff

Jesse Hill - Learning Support Officer

My name is Jesse and I am a Learning Support Officer. I enjoy supporting and seeing the growth of all students in their learning and as young people in society. I am currently trying to finish my Masters of Teaching and enjoy always learning new things. Outside of Trinity I like to read, write, cook,  garden, collect, create, play games and spend time with my friends, family, girlfriend and dog.

David Gahan - Learning Support Officer

Hi! I'm Mr. Gahan. I am a Learning Support Officer at Trinity. I was born and raised in Canberra, but moved to Melbourne and have lived here for 7 years. I am passionate about music (my favourite song is Happy Birthday), making art (I love drawing), and writing stories. I'm a big sports fan and my footy team is The Preston Bullants!

Lucy O'Dea - Prep/1 Teacher

Hello my name is Ms O'Dea. I am a Prep/One teacher in 2020. I have been lucky enough to be a teacher at Trinity Catholic Primary School for 4 years now! Whilst teaching the Prep/One students keeps me pretty busy I also enjoy watching my football team, the Mighty Melbourne Demons - fortunately the Dees have won 6 games this year compared to only 5 last year so I have had lots of celebrating.

I also have a new little puppy, Rosie. She is 5 months old and is quickly becoming my favourite little buddy. We go for a walk to the park each day and she gets to see some of her dog friends!

Bye for now, Ms O'Dea

Maria Neill - Science Teacher

Hi everyone!

My name is Maria and I have been part of the beautiful Trinity School community for a number of years in many roles.

After two years away I have come back to Trinity and taken on the role as the Science Teacher. I was very excited to take on this role and discover all things Science with the students at Trinity. I feel very blessed to be teaching so many fabulous students.

When I am not teaching I enjoy going to our beach home, reading, cooking, gardening, going for walks and I also find painting in water colours very relaxing.

In my spare time I have been working on my family tree which has been lovely discovering relatives and beautiful stories about my family ancestors from different parts of the world. I speak fluent Italian and have travelled to and studied in Italy on many occasions and I am very proud of my Italian heritage.

Family is very important to me and I love catching up with our family and also getting together with our friends.
