Celebrating Achievement

Ava McIntyre (Year 8) has recently turned her focus to cycling and triathlons. After a few short weeks riding with Cairns Cycling Club, Ava competed in her first cycling event in Mareeba over the weekend and placed 3rd in the Under 15 Junior category.

Ava is working hard to achieve her goal to make the Peninsula Triathlon Squad later in the year.

Georgiana Thomas-Peddell (Year 12) is a proud mainland Torres Strait Islander and Kaurareg descendant with ties to Mabuiag, Mua and Muralag Islands in the Torres Strait.

She has embarked on a music composition project which was inspired by the NAIDOC theme ‘Always Was, Always Will Be’, and celebrates the strong and resilient cultures of First Nations people.

We wish them both all the best with their training!

Congratulations to Joshua Stroud (Year 8) and the Cairns Marlins representative basketball team who won the Gold Medal at the QNJBC tournament in Townsville on the weekend! The team was excited to win every game and are now preparing for the State Championships in the September holidays.

Congratulations to all the boys! These are fantastic results.
