The back end of Term 3 all of sudden is busier than ever with Rugby League as restrictions easing allowing us to return to the great game. The pandemic gave us a chance to work on developing our culture by emphasising our player driven team P.R.I.D.E values during both extended and modified training periods in the classroom, gym and on the field.

Not only did our students demonstrate an extreme amount of patience, persistence, and resilience, but they were incredibly relentless and continued to strive towards our vision. During this time, our overall attendances at trainings increased just when you wouldn’t expect it to, and, we had more and more students signing up to the academy. Whilst our playing future was unknown, our students were extremely integrous and did everything at an impeccable standard during all modified in house training sessions and activities. The discipline and determination of our students was admirable, and when restrictions started to ease they were extremely energetic and enthusiastic about not only returning to games but being able to showcase the work they did across two terms of training hard.

Below is the draw and calendar for the remainder of the season outlining Rugby League commitments for the term, but at a glance:

  • A total of seven games for our Opens team with the final game for Year 12’s being played after out inaugural St Mary’s 7s Gala Day on Thursday 17th September
  • A total of three games for our Year 9/10 team who will also represent the college in the 7s Gala Day
