Due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, in particular the social distancing measures in place, St Mary’s has made the difficult decision to cancel our production, Annie Jr.

The continuing concerns and regulations necessitated this decision despite our best efforts to implement a COVID safe plan that prioritised the health and safety of our students and staff.

In addition to the social distancing requirements that directly impact rehearsals (singing, dancing, blocking), there are mass gathering restrictions that CPAC must also comply with. The Queensland Government COVID guidelines and Industry Plan has significant capacity restricting audience attendance (in particular, limiting school bookings).

St Mary’s is very disappointed to make this announcement but ensuring the wellbeing of our community is paramount. I would like to acknowledge the tremendous work and progress that has occurred throughout the production, despite the disruptions. We are fortunate to have an incredibly passionate and supportive community involved in our musicals and we are saddened to be in this predicament.

To our talented cast – despite these challenging and uncertain times, ‘the sun’ll come out tomorrow’.

Thank you for your support and understanding.
