  • You can change your VTAC course application as much as you wish at no extra charge.
  • CASPer: FOR INITIAL TEACHER EDUCATION (ITE) COURSES
  • applicants for all Victorian university ITE courses must undertake the CASPer test.
  • The test requires applicants to demonstrate personal attributes such as motivation to teach, strong interpersonal skills, willingness to learn, resilience, self-efficacy, conscientiousness and organisational skills.
  • CASPer is taken on-line and is composed of 12 sections. Each section contains video or word-based scenarios followed by three open-ended, follow-up questions. Applicants have five minutes to answer the questions that follow each scenario.
  • CASPer can only be taken on-line; international students must complete it by 10 November 2017 and applicants for undergraduate and graduate-entry teaching Round 1 offers must complete it by 30 November 2017.
  • You will need to enter your VTAC ID when registering and will be asked to provide government issued photo ID eg passport, drivers licence or learner permit card. Your results will be sent directly to VTAC and the institutions to which you apply. Results are not given to the applicant.

NOTE: If you sit CASPer and get an offer and defer, you do not have to sit the test again.

When applying for courses, VTAC recommends applicants place some pathway courses in their preference list as they will not know the outcome of their CASPer test and therefore, whether they will be accepted into teaching courses.
