Principal's Report

From The Principal

I have spent the last week hosting my first “Have a Say Day” It has been great to hear from the students about ways they would like to see the school improved. The amount of thought and the way they have presented themselves has been outstanding. The Leadership team will now carefully consider all ideas presented to see what we can implement to improve the experiences for our students.

We will be continuing our tradition of holding a P-12 Multicultural Assembly.  I have heard outstanding reports about this event and I am looking forward to it immensely. The assembly led by the secondary SRC, will be on the 5th of September. I am sure it will be an outstanding success and a wonderful reflection and celebration of not only the multi-cultural nature of our school, but the respect that our students have for each other and the diversity that they bring to our school community.

Our Annual Presentation Ball will be held on Friday September 1st. Students have been practising hard for the last 7 weeks to perfect the dances they are learning. It should be a very special evening. I look forward to seeing many parents and families on the night.

Parent / teacher interviews will take place on Thursday September 14th from 4.00 to 8.00 p.m. Students in Years 3 to 12 are expected to attend interviews with their parents. This night is an extremely important night for parents to gain feedback on how their children are progressing in their studies and how they can improve.

We have completed trials for the Football/Soccer Academy for 2018. It has been great to see the interest that this Academy has attracted and parents and students will be receiving notification in the coming weeks to see if they have been successful in gaining entry. There will be further trials later in the year during term 4. So it is not too late to be a part of this exciting program, details on the next trial will be on our website.

Tell us What You Think - Parent Opinion Survey 2017

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents think of our school. The Parent Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training that is completed by a group of randomly selected parents at each school.

It is designed to assist our school in gaining an understanding of parents’ perception of school climate, student engagement and relationships with our parent community. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

Parents who have been randomly selected to be involved in the survey, have either come into the College to complete the survey or have received a letter on how to complete the survey at home.

The survey will be conducted online by ORIMA Research Pty Ltd and only takes 15 minutes to complete.

Approximately 30 per cent of our parents have been invited to participate in this year’s survey. All responses to the survey are anonymous.

I would like to thank everyone in advance who has been selected and takes part in this important survey.
