Musical- Mary Poppins

This week the annual College production was staged. Mary Poppins played for six full houses. The musical performance was a culmination of many hours of dedicated work by a large group of students, staff and parents. The musical was a great success and a credit to the talented students involved. The backstage stage crew, technical crew, band and make up crew made a brilliant contribution to the success of the musical. The parents and ex students were crucial in the preparation and running of the show for each performance. Jeff Jansen and his team worked tirelessly to coordinate the complex staging and tricks for the performances. Both Jeff and Tom Anderson-King worked for months to get the set ready. The cast were an extraordinary group of very talented, dedicated, passionate, energetic, disciplined performers, who worked very hard during all of last term to prepare for this week. The acting, singing and dancing were of a professional quality. It was a very strong ensemble who delighted audiences at each performance. Juliet Owen, David Dockery and James Kros proved once again that they are a crucial part of the success of any production. Laura Furse, Doug Watson, Sam Tout and Ric Del Pizzo, as well as Kristin Serra, all made a valued contributions to the musical. Finally Kiri Moore, who designed the costumes, set and poster, gave the musical it’s superb aesthetic. She worked tirelessly with the cast, crew and parents to ensure that this production would look stunning. The audiences have been fantastic. Thank you to the community for their support. Once again I applaud the cast for their commitment and ability. They are the reason this production was so successful.
