Recreation News

We have really enjoyed the weather in Term One, getting out and about as much as possible whilst the sun is still shining.

Boarders have visited the Old Marron Farm to pet and feed the animals, taken a walk at the Albany Wind Farm, enjoyed some fishing and taken a number of beach trips.

Easter Challenge

To celebrate the final night of boarding for the term, we held the ‘GSG Boarding Easter Challenge’. Students had to register their team, solve cryptic clues, take a selfie at each of the check-in points and solve a puzzle at the end. Prizes were given for best-dressed team, best selfie, best team spirit and overall winning team. We also had three ‘Golden Bunny Raffle’ winners! It was a really fun way to end a busy term. We are sending your children home full of chocolate and good memories!  Thanks to Tristan and Nyree Mackenzie for all of their hard work in organising this event.

Grape Picking

Living on campus has its benefits when boarding but it can also draw helpers when support for the school is needed. This year's grape harvest saw all of the Junior Boys and Girls along with our Senior boarders come down at 6.00am to participate in the annual grape picking harvest at Great Southern Grammar.

I found an appropriate song by Creedence Clearwater Revivals 12-minute version of 'I Heard it through the grape vine' to start us off. This however was on loop for an hour which has found a repeat when we go out in the bus on recreational activities. School Captain Pierce Newman may play this when taxiing down the runway to fly his plane, just saying!!.

Term Two Recreation Calendar

Please find the draft Term Two recreation calendar here.  We will confirm all activities early next term and share the final calendar with families when it has been finalised.
