Dining Hall News

Moving into my tenth year at Grammar it has been a successful first term, the new students especially, have settled in well and seem to be enjoying the food, this can often be a bit challenging trying new things and settling into the dining routine.   

 

We have mixed things up a bit this year with some in-house dinners, boys and girls dinners and Sunday night BBQs on the deck being a popular addition. 

 

As I said it's my tenth year and I’m constantly aware of not falling into a rut and am always keen to try new things. With this in mind if you get any feedback or ideas from the students over the break, please feel free to share them with me.  We have a good strong team in the kitchen and are always looking for new things to keep things interesting.

Flexischools

Boarding students order their lunch through Flexischools on a set day of the week each term.  There is a different special available each day of the week through the canteen.  To ensure each student has the opportunity to enjoy the special on offer each day, we rotate the ordering day through the houses.  For example, this term Anchorage House has ordered on a Monday where they have been able to order nachos as the special of the day. Next term Endeavour will order on a Monday.

 

The Flexischools order days for Term Two are:

  • Monday - Endeavour House (Special - Nachos or Deluxe Nachos)
  • Tuesday - Eclipse House (Special - Pizza or Sushi)
  • Wednesday - Breaksea House (Special - Hamburgers)
  • Thursday - Anchorage House (Special - Spaghetti Bolognaise or Sushi)

There are some occasions when students are off campus on their ordering day due to Workplace Learning or TAFE.  The students affected are able to negotiate a different ordering day for that term with the canteen staff.
