Austral Salon - 24 May

A sincere thanks to our friends at the Austral Salon for hosting some of our brass and piano students in a lunchtime concert of solo works at the All Nations Church on Tuesday 24 May.

Generation in Jazz Vocal Scholarships

Congratulations to Olivia (Year 12) and Cecilia for making it through to the finals of the Generations in Jazz Vocal Scholarships!! We wish them all the very best as they take to the stage in Mt Gambia for their adjudicated performance next week!!

AMEB Diploma of Music

Congratulations to 4 of our senior cellists - Rachel, Arjen, Chiara & Dana who were all awarded with their AMEB Diploma of Music at a ceremony over the weekend. This achievement is the culmination of many many hours honing their craft. CONGRATULATIONS!

Boroondara Concerto Competition - 24 July

Celebrating its 31st year, the prestigious Boroondara Eisteddfod spans eleven weeks of thrilling competitions and events. It brings together talented musicians of all ages to showcase their skills and share in the joy of performing.

Congratulations Jasmine and Samuel who have been selected as finalists in the Boroondara Concerto Competition and will make their

concerto debuts with the Camerata Orchestra at the Hawthorn Arts Centre 24 July. Both are playing concertos by Beethoven. Best wishes for a great performance!

Congratulations to Neeharika (Year 9) and Jasmine (Year 10) for their successful entries into the Artology composition awards for 2022. Both Neeharika and Jasmine entered original compositions into the To Country Program. This program encourages young composers to write an orchestral work that can feature as a musical Acknowledgement of Country at the commencement of a concert. Later this year, Neeharika's work Respect the Land will be performed by the Queensland Youth Orchestra, with Jasmine's work Wilderness realised by the Adelaide Youth Orchestra.

Chamber Music is a cornerstone of the VCASS Music Program. Each of our Senior Ensembles took to the stage to share a short program of works which also doubled as an audition for our prestigious Chamber Music Competition.

Year 7-12 featuring the VCASS Big Band, Senior and Junior Jazz Combo’s and Senior Soloists.

Lunchtime Concert #3: 23 June | VCASS | Recital Room

Year 7-9 free Concert - Chamber Music (small ensembles) is a cornerstone of the VCASS training program and we are continually delighted by the quality of the repertoire prepared by our students for this series.
