Message from the ACTING PRINCIPAL

Welcome to our End of Term 2 Newsletter! What a term it has been! In Hilary’s absence, it has been an honour to step into the Acting Principal role.  My heartfelt thanks to the students and staff for their dedication, their passion, their good humour and their patience in what has been a challenging term.  I have been sustained this term by the motto of the city of Paris - Fluctuat nec mergitur (it is rocked by waves but does not sink).  A motto that vividly suggests resilience, courage and inner strength - something that the VCASS community has in spades!

We have been thrilled to host so many wonderful performances and events this term and have been delighted to welcome family and friends into the school and online through our streaming platform. On Friday we will end the term with a full school assembly run by our captains - a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the many highlights and achievements of our community and to reflect on the powerful role of the Arts in education.  A special mention to our Year 12 students ahead of the holidays - take the time to rest and recharge but try to find some space to commence your revision schedule and get ahead of any Unit 4 learning.

In this newsletter, you can enjoy reading about the events and activities that our students and staff have been involved in these past weeks.

My best wishes to you and your families during the winter break.
