THEATRE ARTS

Every Friday for the past semester, the Year 11 Theatre Artists completed a program with the Melbourne Theatre Company (MTC) with Nick Hedger. We were taught by Steven Nicolazzo in the first term and learnt about the elements of Set Design and Theatre Production, with many special guests along the way. To conclude the term, we each created and presented a set design themed around Shakespeare's As You Like It, each student creating an amazing and imaginative design. Within the last term, we focussed on Costume Design and Script Analysis with Katy Maudlin as our teacher, and multiple special guests. We designed costumes around Berlin and presented them to each other, before getting into pairs, picking a scene and performing the scenes from Berlin. To conclude the program, we performed our scenes to our parents and a few teachers at the Lawler Theatre, a very entertaining and fun way to end an enjoyable and informational semester of Fridays.
