Dining Hall News

Our catering team do an amazing job feeding our boarders at every meal with a smile on their face. Breakfast is on offer in the Dining Hall every morning between 7.00am and 8.00am, Middle School boarders are expected to attend, and Senior School can choose to have cereal and toast in house or come to the Dining hall for a hot breakfast.  We encourage our senior boarders to attend breakfast in the dining hall. The breakfast menu is the same every week to enable students to know what to expect on any given day. They tend to go on a Thursday when it is a full cooked breakfast. The breakfast menu can be found here. We would appreciate your help in encouraging your boarder to go to the Dining Hall for breakfast a couple of times a week.

The lunch and dinner menu is updated on MyGSG weekly and can be accessed here. Recently we employed a nutritionist, who has experience with boarding schools, to go through our boarding menu to provide feedback. The dietician was pleased by our menu and discussed some small alterations required to make the menu more gluten free and vegetarian compatible. Chef Nick has been trying some new dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, to ensure our students needs are catered for and to keep the menu varied. This week for the first time we invited the seniors to have lunch in the Dining Hall. We are trialing this with the seniors only and then we will ask for student feedback when our boarding leaders meet with Chef Nick on Thursday.

Did you know we offer ‘Grab and Go’ options for students who have sport or other commitments all day or late in the evenings? These students can either speak to the catering staff and order a 'meal to go' by Thursday or there are quick options to grab and take in each boarding house freezer. In each House there is always fruit available to take.

We would like to introduce you to our dining team.
