FINAL ORAL EXAMINATIONS COMMENCING ON MONDAY 12 OCTOBER 2020

During the last holidays, our Year 12 German and French students were already completing Mock Orals in preparation for their final examinations. And I assume, students studying a Language with external Language schools would have done the same. They received feedback which allowed students to reflect on their performance and to consider the improvement for the final Oral Examination. Regular practice is definitely the key to success.

In the coming weeks, Year 12 Language students will complete their Oral Examinations in a new COVID-safe environment.

Congratulations to all of you, you made it through a very challenging year. Thank you all for trying your best!

We wish all Language students the best of luck for the first part of their Language examination.

YEAR 9 BERTHE MOUCHETTE FRENCH POETRY COMPETITION - UPDATE

On Sunday 11 October, our seven Year 9 finalists in the Berthe Mouchette competition competed in the finals via Zoom - another of 2020's interesting twists. Now we just have to wait to see how they performed. Whatever the results, I am extremely proud of these wonderful students for reaching the finals. Here are some of their comments after today's efforts:

The Berthe Mouchette Poetry Competition was a great opportunity to do something new and expand my French horizons. Despite restrictions and changes in the process, it remained a valuable experience.

Aleksandra SImic

The Berthe Mouchette competition went pretty well. The judges were really nice and I think I did alright. Thanks for this cool experience :)

Caitlyn Lyon

The final went well although there were some technical difficulties at the start.

Stella Wilson

The zoom call was a bit awkward as they couldn't hear me at the start but I worked it out. After that, I think it went pretty well.
