Faith and Learning Walks - Term 3

Next term, we are planning to introduce Faith and Learning Walks for each grade.

The plan is: if your child's grade is rostered on to attend Parish Mass, then that same day parents/carers will be invited to attend Parish Mass, then participate in a learning walk in their child's classroom and then join your child for a picnic morning tea.

As Fr Dan is attending World Youth Day next term, we may not be attending Parish Masses each week. In the event that we do not attend Parish Mass, then Mrs Woodhouse or Mrs Moss will run a Liturgy or a SPaR for the allocated grade and parents/carers will then be invited into the classrooms for a learning walk followed by a picnic morning tea.

Please see the Week 10 newsletter for a roster of grades allocated for Faith and Learning Walks for Term 3.

St Patrick's Biggest Morning Tea

A huge THANK YOU to our staff and families who attended and contributed to our St Patrick's Biggest Morning Tea to raise money for the Cancer Council.

We raised an amazing $815.

A big thank you to our sponsors who donated our lucky Door prizes and some extra special goodies for our morning tea.

Presentation Schools Zoom

On Wednesday 14th June our Student Leaders and Charism Leaders participated in a Zoom session to engage and connect with other Presentation Sister schools across NSW.

They talked to schools from other areas of Sydney and schools located as far away as 60km west of Wagga Wagga where there were only 3 students in Year 6.

The students represented our school flawlessly, sharing how we live out our school values and foster our schools Charism. They shared ideas for fundraising and how they reach out to meet the needs of our school and our local communities.

The students enjoyed meeting students from other schools and sharing information about our school and sharing what they love most about being a student at St Patrick's.

Confirmation

Last Tuesday and Thursday, 53 of our Year 6 students received the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Tuesday nights Mass saw Archbishop Anthony Fisher confer our students and we were lucky enough to have Bishop Richard Umbers confer our students on Thursday night.

A huge CONGRATULATIONS to our students and their families.

Feast of the Sacred Heart - June 16th 2023

What is the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus?

The Heart is the symbol of human love. This Catholic devotion honors the Sacred Heart of Our Lord, through which was manifested to us God’s eternal love for everyone. “God is Love” (1 John 4:8), and so in honoring the human expression of that Love, especially on the Cross, we honour Its Divine Source.

Why is the Sacred Heart important?

St. John Paul II said, “The Sacred Heart has given us everything — redemption, salvation, sanctification.”

The Sacred Heart is the actual heart of Christ and also indicates His love for humanity. The Catechism of the Catholic Church says, “The prayer of the Church venerates and honors the Heart of Jesus just as it invokes his most holy name. It adores the incarnate Word and his Heart which, out of love for men, he allowed to be pierced by our sins.” (CCC 2669)

In Christ,
