HSC Textiles & Design 2023

Major Project Exhibition

The Year 12 Textiles & Design class of 2023 have been busy over the last few weeks with final preparations on their major projects and their accompanying folio. They have worked hard to get it all done in the time given, always  challenging when they have so many other commitments in the HSC year.

The four students are to be commended on their final projects. It has been very rewarding to see their sense of pride and their success on completion.

Klaudia Stace designed and made a single bed patchwork quilt cover in blue hues, with doilies stitched on as a decorative feature. A beautiful addition to a small child’s bedroom.

Imogen Hislop designed and constructed a two piece summer outfit in an emerald green, single knit jersey fabric. Super comfortable for those summer BBQs and festive occasions.

Indi Tait created a two piece costume in neutral tones, based on an historical style, boned corset with eyelets as a closure, accompanied with a layered tulle skirt bound with satin ribbon and tied at the waist.

Jack Danieli designed and made a wall hanging using the garden as inspiration. Crochet was the main feature with vines/tendrils falling down off the rod, accented by crochet flowers, laser cut fabric flowers that were dyed and printed, along with some bugs and insects attached for a bit of fun.

I am so proud of all of them.

An exhibition of the works (along with projects from Design and Technology students) was held on Thursday morning for students of Year 12, parents and carers to view. Morning tea was enjoyed by all. A huge thank you to everyone who came to support the students.
