Engaged Learning

A part of engaged learning is checking understanding of key learning goals which are based on the co-constructed success criteria. The use of success criteria at O’Connor Catholic College is to ‘paint a picture of what is truly the essential learning’ and this ties in with the Learning Intentions and Success Criteria.

The co-construction process is vital to student understanding of what success looks like and their ability to articulate how they are doing and how they can improve.

This conversation is reflective of the ongoing learning process in the classroom, it continues to the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills that are fostered in each of the key learning areas. It allows teachers to engage with the why, when and how to improve student learning and allows the establishment of learning goals that are both short and long term.
