CKC Cup - First Round
CKC Cup - Cowra High vs Kelso High
On Friday 9 September, Cowra High School played host to Kelso High School in a variety of sporting events as part of the CKC Cup. This event is played annually by students in Years 7-10 as a triangular series between Cowra, Kelso and Canobolas High Schools. The emphasis is on fun and participation rather than final scores.
The results from last week were as follows:
- Junior Girls (Year 7/8) - won Netball, Touch and Basketball; lost Football and Volleyball
- Junior Boys (Year 7/8) - won TBall; tied Touch and Football; lost Basketball and Volleyball.
- Senior Girls (Year 9/10) - won Basketball, Netball, Touch and Volleyball; tied Football
- Senior Boys (Year 9/10) - won Touch; tied Softball; lost Basketball, Volleyball and Football
- Junior Debaters tied
- Senior Debaters lost
- Girls Hockey (Yr 7-10) lost
- Boys Hockey (Yr 7-10) won
Final result - Cowra won 10 games, Kelso won 9 games, 5 games were tied.
Students and staff from both schools commented on the success of the day and the camaraderie of all students involved. This is another example of the broad opportunities available to students at Cowra High.
The 2nd leg of the CKC Cup will see Canobolas HS hosting Cowra on 28 October.
