School Council

Dear Parents,

Natalie Hutchins MP Minister for Education
Natalie Hutchins MP Minister for Education

Exciting news! The newly announced Minister for Education in Victoria, the Honourable Natalie Hutchins, will be visiting Mackellar Primary School on Monday August 8 for our school assembly. She will be presenting our school with its Blue Award accreditation for our work on School-wide Positive Behaviour Supports. This award acknowledges the hard work done by staff and students in ensuring our values come to life in the ways in which we treat, work and respect each other. The work is for the 2021 school year and paves the way for our bronze or silver accreditation this year. As always, parents are welcome to join us at assemblies and we would encourage you to come along if you have the chance.

As was mentioned in our last edition, we will be holding a parent forum on Tuesday August 2nd from 6pm. This will be a virtual forum to avoid unnecessary physical contact and to provide as many parents as possible the opportunity to take part and have their voice and opinion heard. A XUNO invitation will be coming out shortly with the details of how to register for the event. I would encourage as many of you as possible to register and take part to help shape the future of our school.

The information from this forum will be used in our school review as school council and staff compile our next School Strategic Plan covering the years 2023-26.

Regards,

Vince Scarfo
