Grade 6 and Junior School Council Leaders

Hello everyone I’m Irena Bytyqi the school vice caption for 2022, our school has been learning about the ‘Young Leaders Program’, ‘Expect Respect’, and many more other programs. Recently Natalie Hutchins came to our school and gave us the ‘Blue Reward’ for our implementation of our School Wide Positive Behaviours (SWPBS) program. While Natalie Hutchins was at our school, the grade 6 leaders and the Junior School Council representatives all had a chat with Natalie about things about online learning and how going to school is better than learning from home. I personally like going to school better because we can all socialise with each other.  

Our assemblies have been a big focus for the Grade 6s Leaders because Mrs Wood is using the Gradual Release Of Responsibility model, and this means that we plan and do assemblies with minimal assistance now. My personal opinion for the grade 6s doing assembly is actually one of my favourite things to do as a leader because planning assembly makes us be very independent and speaking in-front of at least 350 people is thrilling  because it makes me more confident.
