Fosters Cup Tennis Champions!!
Congratulations to the College tennis team - Sam Stenning (11), Juanu Jonck (8), Lucy Bennett (10), Vene Jonck (10) who competed in the CWWHSSA Fosters Cup Tennis Competition on Friday 23rd October at Bolton Park.
Matches were played in a round robin format with Wagga Wagga High School, Mater Dei Catholic College and Wagga Wagga Christian College also in attendance. The rain thankfully stayed away, allowing some very skilful tennis to be on display. We played well in the first two rounds and led by only three games against Mater Dei going into the final round. It was very close; however, we managed to secure the victory with a final game score of 126.

Monday 26th October - The Riverina Anglican College v Kildare Catholic College - washed out
Monday 2nd November - The Riverina Anglican College 66 defeated Kooringal High School 45.
After a wash out last Monday, followed by the bye on Wednesday, the girls' cricket team were able to take the field again to play Kooringal High School in the last round match of the CWWHSSA competition. After winning the toss, we elected to field, restricting Kooring High to a total of 45. Best bowlers were Imogen Metcalfe (2/7) and Zoe Jenkins (1/0). Our innings saw Bonnie McKean (9) and Chloe Boulding (11 ret.) open the batting, making some swift runs. They were ably assisted by Maddie Angel (12 ret.) to reach the target at the end of the 7th over to secure the win. We then went on to bat another two overs to make a total of 66 runs. A special mention to Vinudi Rathnanyaka who took a fantastic catch, one wicket and scored runs with the bat at the end of the innings - great effort Vinudi! As usual, the girls were supportive of each other and displayed wonderful sportsmanship. The team looked forward to playing the Grand Final match against Kildare Catholic College, which was held on Wednesday 4th November.
Grand Final - Kildare Catholic College 131 defeated The Riverina Anglican College 111
Congratulations to the Open Girls Cricket team who are the 2020 Runners Up in the CWWHSSA Thunder Girls Cricket League Competition. Kildare Catholic College were too strong on the day, making 131 runs after being sent in to bat. In reply, we came close with a total of 111 runs. Highlights in the field included some accurate bowling from Imogen Metcalfe (1/12) and Zoe Jenkins (1/18), with Sophie Bruckner taking a great catch at first slip and Olivia Wright with a beautiful catch at cover. Bonnie McKean top scored with the bat, scoring 26 runs - including five 4’s. She was ably supported by Lucy McKelvie-Hill who made a quick 17 off 10 balls.
All girls should be proud of their efforts and the spirit in which they played every game.
A special thank you to Mrs Jenkins for coaching the team and Mr Phil Jenkins from Riverina Female Cricket who set up the grounds and umpired every match for the College.
