Year 5 and 6

Grade 5 - Ryan Condron (Team Leader), Chris Bird, Gill Prentice, Lauren Strachan

Grade 6 - Al Straughan (Team Leader), Kerryn McConachy, Cyara Pittas, James Sadler

Winter is here and students are working hard as we approach the end of Term 2. We are all more susceptible to sniffles and viruses so if you child is unwell, please consider other students and keep them at home. We'd like to keep everyone as healthy and productive as possible!

Grade 5 Camp

We would like to sincerely thank our parent helpers who assisted us on camp. Kate C, Kate G, Kendall, Mic and Jo, your time taken away from your own families and work life was invaluable to us. We cannot run camps without the continued support of our amazing families. We thank you for the sleepless nights, putting up with the noise and helping dress and carry all the baggage. You are all amazing.

Personal Hygiene

In Grade 5 and 6, many students start to go through changes with their bodies as they approach puberty. Although we go into more detail with this in Term 4 during our 'Interrelate - Moving into the Teen Years' sessions, classes have discussed the importance of using deodorant and showering regularly to keep themselves healthy.

Winter Sport

Parents will have received an email regarding payment and permission for our upcoming Winter Sport days. It would appreciated if they could be completed as soon as possible. Students will not be able to attend without permission on QKR, which then affects team selection.

Team selection has been occurring over the course of the term and while we hope all students are able to play their first choice sport, fixturing and numbers mean this isn't always possible. Some students who miss out on their first choice sport look forward to the opportunity to try another sport, others are naturally disappointed - we find this a valuable opportunity to talk about resilience and understanding that we don't always get everything we want in life. It is appreciated when this approach is supported at home. We are very lucky that we can ensure all students participate in sport against other schools.
