FOR THE RECORD - ST VIRGIL’S COLLEGE FOOTBALL

STATE & SOUTHERN PREMIERSHIPS

The trophy below was re-constituted back in the 1990s and each metal shield represents a St Virgil’s State Premiership prior to the 1994 re-structure of education in the south of Tasmania.  It is on display in the Centenary History Room at Austins Ferry. 

The team picture above shows the inaugural trophy with the 1914 State Premiership team. It was also won by the College in the following years: 

1912 – 15, 1929, 1931, 1933 – 40, 1944 – 46, 1948 – 49, 1951 – 55, 1957, 1972 – 74,                   1981 – 83, 1985, 1990 – 93.

 Over the 84 year period (1911 – 1994), SVC won 36 State premierships (43%)

Southern Titles won by St Virgil's:

1912 – 19, 1921 – 22, 1929, 1931 – 41, 1944 – 46, 1948 – 55, 1957, 1963 – 64,                            1971 – 74, 1975 – 85, 1990 – 93. 

Over the 84 year period (1911 – 1994)  SVC won 51 southern premierships (61%)
