Parent & Friends News

The JPII Parents and Friends held their first meeting last Monday 27 June.

It was great to get the ball rolling and to hear from parents in regards to their expectations and hopes of the P&F. Mr Gill (Principal) shared with the group the schools current and emerging priorities and where the P&F might be able to assist the school.

At the forefront of that is the new school hall which is on track for next year and will be a wonderful addition to our school community.

The P&F discussed celebrating the opening of the hall with quiz night, not only to test out the new facilities but also to raise much needed funds to support our children.

As the second half of the school year is fast approaching, we are mindful that larger fundraisers and events will be difficult to plan and coordinate.

The P&F hope to coordinate some smaller events such as hotdog/milkshake days, a Fathers' Day stall and even a Halloween Disco for the students in October.

Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday 2 August at 2:15pm - we hope this time will make it easier for more parents to attend and share their ideas with us.
