Clever Classes
Kinder | Prep | Grade 1 | Grade 2
Some VERY clever is work is being carried out in our
Kinder, Prep, Grade 1 and Grade 2 classrooms.
KINDER
Kinder have been focussing on our writing and drawing skills. We practice drawing and writing on the whiteboards as part of our morning routine.
Last week, we spent time going through the features needed when drawing a person. Mrs Lange told us the different body parts we needed to add and we could choose how they looked.
Here are some of our drawings.

PREP BLUEGUM
Prep has been working extremely hard in InitiaLit! We have been learning lots of tricky words.
These are words that are hard to sound out. We know that it is SO important to learn them as they are everywhere. They are in games, around our school, in our homes, in magazines and newspapers, but we mostly find them in stories.
We have been writing them, reading them and playing games with them!

GRADE 1 LEATHERWOOD
In Grade 1 Leatherwood and we have been exploring gratitude.
Our first learning outcome was to identify opportunities for gratitude in our lives.
We spent some silent time outdoors considering this, collected leaves and recorded our responses on them. Finally, we collaborated to create our very own ‘Gratitude Tree’ which is displayed outside the classroom.
Our second learning outcome was learning about the importance of expressing gratitude. We worked as a group to identify members of the school community who do things we appreciate. Students then worked on creating a card for those people and included a message that was honest, personal and specific. The cards were simply beautiful, and we look forward to passing them on to the very special recipients.

Here is some of our artwork exploring colours and emotions.
Thank you Kinder, Prep, Grade 1, Grade 2 for sharing your beautiful
work and learnings.
