Premier's Reading Challenge Special Visit from Hawka

As we finish the Premier’s Reading Challenge this week, it was exciting to have a visit from David Cox, Head of Tasmanian Operations for the Hawthorn Football Club, and the club mascot, Hawka.

John Paul II was one of the schools selected for a visit because of our great effort in the Premier’s Reading Challenge. David read The Cook and The King by Julia Donaldson and talked to students about the importance of reading, explaining how reading is exercise for the brain. Willow O’Neil in Prep was awarded a reading cushion.

Please return all Reading Challenge forms to the library by Thursday.
