Hawthorn vs Collingwood

There were some happy spectators at the MCG on Saturday afternoon, thanks to the Hawthorn Football Club. Some very lucky students and their families were excited to make their way to the big game, with fantastic seats right behind the Hawthorn Cheer Squad. 

Hayden came along to his very first AFL game with his parents Michelle and Peter, and his sister.  All of Hayden's family was proudly wearing their Hawthorn football gear!  Jade came with her poppy Chris, and they were divided, with Chris in his Hawks gear and Jade in her no.10 Collingwood jumper.  Kyria and I also enjoyed the game with her sister and my son. 

Some of us were lucky to chat to Brayden Maynard,  Ash Johnson and Jack Crisp to wish them luck before the game.  But the Magpies needed more than that! 

The final result was a surprise to many one-eyed Collingwood supporters, with some friendly rivalry amongst all of us.  But it was very clear that the Hawks were the better team on the day, beating the Magpies 16.9.105 to 11.7.73.  

What a great day!  Well done on a great win Hawthorn!
