FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Thank you to the St. Francis Xavier School community for the warm welcome I have received this week.  It will take me awhile to get to know all the children’s names and then I will need to stretch my brain to try and connect each parent with each child.  

To add to this myriad of new faces, last Wednesday we welcomed our new 2020 Prep families to their annual information evening.  It was good to introduce our 2020 Prep teachers for next year, Mrs. Angela Scarcella and Mrs. Laura Annett. They will be instrumental in inducting our Prep children into their first experience of primary school.  I am sure the Prep children will grow to love their Prep teachers through the year and as a consequence love being at school which is so very important. The announcement of our staffing and structure for next year will occur for other classes later in the year and will be announced officially through the school newsletter.

In the meantime,  I ask for your patience, whilst I get to learn how we do things the SFX way.  I appreciate all the assistance that Mrs. Bownds (Deputy Principal) and the teachers have given me since beginning last Friday.  I look forward greatly to leading this school community over the next eight years, affirmed by the support of Father Michael and Father Terry, the parent and Parish community, the wonderful staff and most especially the children.  It is my privilege to be invited into your school community.
