Daffodil Day

Friday 27 August

The ‘Daff Heroes’ are hard at work preparing the beautiful bunches of daffodils for sale for Daffodil Day.

Students are encouraged to wear a stripy accessory as we are raising funds for Ronald McDonald House as well as the Cancer Foundation. Bring your gold coin donation to class or Homeroom. Our annual Daffodil Day cup cake sale is on at recess outside the Senior School building. Please donate to this worthy cause. See you in stripes!

Languages Week

今日は。Konnichi wa. Languages Week is scheduled in Week Seven of this term again this year. It is evident that Australia is a country consisted with people speaking so many languages.

The aim of Languages Week is to raise awareness of the benefit of languages and highlight the diversity of languages that exist in the GSG community. It would be great to have some discussions about the importance of learning different languages.

Years One to Year Nine students will have an opportunity to experience some Japanese cultural activities such as Japanese tie dye method, origami/kirigami craft, Japanese cooking throughout next week. Students will also have an opportunity to order Japanese Curry next week.

Community Event

For the GSG Community, I am going to run a Japanese cooking demonstration at the GSG Hospitality Room from 6.00pm on Thursday 2 September. I will introduce how to cook some of the dishes which are so easy to prepare and will not be served in the restaurants. You are, of course, tasting some of my dishes. If you are interested in attending this session, please email reception@gsg.wa.edu.au by Tuesday 1 September. The cost for this session is $5 per person and maximum number of participants for the session is 15 people. I am looking forward to showing you some of my family recipes.
