Deputy Principals' News

We were very excited this week with the announcement of Carmelina as Principal. We look forward to continuing working together as an executive team to continue to make our school and community the best it can be. Thank you very much to our parent community for helping us celebrate this announcement by informing the students of our plans for Thursday morning. Our students all knew the planned surprise and helped carry it out beautifully! We were very proud as always of our students. Not only did we have an Avenue of Honour to clap Principal Corio into the school on her arrival. We also had balloons,  a sign and flowers. At recess the staff celebrated by bringing in morning tea and a fabulous cake. At lunchtime we held a whole school picnic on the green grass and all students were treated to either a zooper dooper or icy pole. There was also dancing and a conga line!

As we come to the end of Week 4 of Term 2, we find ourselves nearly half way through the term. With many wonderful things happening in the coming weeks, we ask that parents regularly check the St James Google Parent Calendar for up to date information. These dates can also be found within the school newsletter.

The St James Google Parent Calendar can be accessed via the link on the Dates & Lunch Orders page.

Student Uniform

Well done to all the students that have made the seamless transition into the St James winter Uniform. Wearing a uniform gives our students a sense of belonging to our community. It also gives our students a sense of identity and cohesion. As mentioned in last week's newsletter, the students discussed at the last SRC meeting the parts of our uniform that we felt as students we could improve on. Here is a list of what the SRC leaders said:

  • Runners are not a part of the school uniform except on sports days. Black runners are NOT a part of the school uniform.
  • Please wear plain white socks with the summer and sport uniform.
  • Winter is navy socks or stockings.
  • Shirts tucked in .
  • Hair accessories are white, navy, red.
  • Sport Jackets are not a part of the school uniform.
  • Ties to be worn and done up properly.

Please support us in ensuring your child wears the school uniform correctly and with pride.

Looking forward to another wonderful term.
