Parents Association Update
On behalf of the Parent’s Association, we wanted to say congratulations to Carmelina Corio on her appointment of Principal at St James, it’s great news and we are happy to have the A team, with Emma Herbert and Georgia McNamara as Co-Deputy Principals.
We hope you all had a lovely Mother’s Day on Sunday and were spoiled by your family.
We are all looking forward to our Mother’s Day lunch this Saturday, at Elwood bathers and the amazing entertainment with our very own band playing - Sam and Sam @samsambutdifferent (follow them on Instagram).
The after party is organised at Bellucci Bar (151 Martin Street) from 4pm with Bellucci opening the bar just for us St James mums. If you can't make lunch during the day, you are more than welcome to join the after celebrations.

A catch up for the dads is tonight, Thursday 18th of May,
7.30pm at Hotel Brighton.

DONATIONS FOR SILENT AUCTION @ PARENTS NIGHT OUT
If you have anything for the silent auction, please let Virginia or Connie know. Holiday houses, wine, chocolates, books, children’s items, cosmetics or skin care (anything any-one would like to buy). Or if you are a regular at a business, you can ask them for a donation, we like to support and promote local businesses to the school community.
We will be sending out an Operoo soon for parents to send details of any donations. A link to buy raffle tickets will be forwarded in due course. N.B. You can still buy tickets if you are unable attend the event.
SCHOLASTIC BOOK CLUB
You may see the 2 issues that come out per month on the Scholastic book club. This is kindly managed by Danielle Rohan who needs to hand this over and we are looking for a volunteer. It doesn’t require much work at all and only pushing a button for go, twice a month. If you are interested, please let Connie know.
NEW ENROLMENTS
St James is taking enrolments for new families next year and hope that all St James families can put the word out for any potential new families.
THANKS FROM THE PA
We are very grateful for the continued support of all our parents, the school and local community. All our PA members are volunteers who generously give up their own time to organise our school events.
Contributions from our fundraising efforts will be put towards many areas across the school. Some initial ideas that have strong support from the PA group and school community are 1) Outdoor furniture for the Tilley playground 2) Improving school security 3) Retractable cafe style blinds for the exterior of the undercover area so it can be used during hot or wet days.
