International Women's Day Breakfast

On March 9 we celebrated International Women's Day with a shared breakfast with over 300 members of the MSJ community. Thank you to Alumnae members Karyn Howie and Sue O'Brien who spoke to their book, "How the West Was One", a collection of stories about growing up in the Western suburbs. Karen and Sue were joined by Alumnae members Lina Caneva and MSJ Board Josephine Cafagna member who both contributed to the book. MSJ Alumnae and Board member Annie Rahilly was also present.

The College was honoured to have these strong role models present for International Women's Day and their stories of challenging women's education and gender stereotypes was inspiring to all.

Ride 4 the Kids Reunion

It has been 10 years since a group of amateur teacher bike riders and over 50 intrepid students set out from Adelaide to ride the 727km back to Melbourne to raise well needed funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.

Under the leadership of Mr Gavin Deller, with support from Ms Meurant, Mrs Olivia and several fellow staff, the group were able to raise $50,000 for RCH. With 13 riders at a time, 3 staff and 10 students rotating every 60 minutes, riding through average temperatures of 38 Degrees Celsius, sealed and unsealed highways, roads and dirt tracks, the team managed to return trip in little over 12 days.
