Sport

Week 4 and 5 saw the beginning of Friday sport for our students in Year 5 and 6. Students choose between either AFL or Netball and play in a round robin tournament with other Holt District schools each Friday. This is in preparation for the upcoming AFL and Netball Lightning Premierships to be held on Wednesday 7th June and Thursday 8th June. No scores are kept during the round robin tournament but the ball was certainly going through our goals more than that of St Mary’s last week on the AFL field and also through the netball rings.

Students in Year 5 and 6 who have been chosen to represent St James at the upcoming Lightning Premierships should have received an Operoo last Friday with all the details. If there is anyone who would like to support our Netball teams as a coach please let me know.

Last Friday 19th May, students from Year 3 at St James were invited to take part in a sport coaching session with Year 9 Star of the Sea students. Our Year 3 students had an absolute ball according to Mrs Ferrari and Mr Bengough from Star of the Sea was also thrilled with the outcome of the collaboration.

Beachside Cross Country

A huge congratulations to our 6 students from St James who competed at the Beachside competition on Tuesday. A very tough course and competition. I am very glad you had a day of reasonable weather. Thank you to the parents who were able to take and supervise the students on this day.
