The Christmas Surprise - By Amaya

There was not a sound in the house, not even a mouse was stirring until an alarm set off …RING, RING, RING!
Alex woke up with a startle at 1 in the morning, but there was a reason for that, today was no ordinary day, it was CHRISTMAS!

Alex’s mum and dad said that they were getting a huge Christmas surprise for Alex. Alex really hoped that his parents would buy him a pet, as he does adore animals.

Without thinking of brushing his teeth or getting ready, Alex ran to the window to see if it was snowing, the snow was at least three feet high! Alex gasped in amazement and then ran to his parents’ room and leapt onto the bed and started jumping up and down while singing, “ITS CHRISTMAS, ITS CHRISTMAS!”

Alex’s mom and dad woke up startled and then gave a big sigh and said, “Ok ok, we’ll get up!”

They all went downstairs where the Christmas tree was and Alex counted 5 presents for everyone. Suddenly out of the corner of his eye, he saw that one present had air holes ………….. this should be the pet! Alex rushed to the box, opened it very carefully and to his surprise it was a golden labradoodle puppy!

Alex was so grateful to his mum and dad that he let them name the puppy, since it is a girl they named her Rosie.

A letter from Ometh (Year 3)

Dear Mr. Catalano,

I am Ometh from Grade 3, who joined Glen Waverley Primary School on the 14th February, 2023. Thank you for welcoming me to this school so lovingly and for explaining to me how things are done.

I enjoy coming to my new school very much. The most interesting thing about this school is there are a lot of places to play, and we also have lots of time to play too. The other thing that interests me is that school allows us to use iPads. Along with these the teachers are very kind, especially my class teacher, Ms. Dimopoulos. My class friends are very helpful and friendly. They helped me fit in to my new class easily.

I’m very happy that I can come and meet you whenever I want to because I love to talk with you. Thank you for all that you do for me! I will do my best and make Glen Waverley Primary School proud!

Yours sincerely,
Ometh.
