Living at Lockington

What an amazing first two and a half weeks we have enjoyed at Lockington! It was fantastic to host the families of our 22 wonderful students as they settled into Melbourne life. The conversations and connections formed between staff, families and students in those first few days have set the foundations for a successful year.

We have hit the ground running with two action packed weekends. The students have enjoyed a trip to the Couta Boat Club in Sorrento along with the class of 2018, surfing lessons at the Woorrangalook Koori Surf Titles in Urquhart’s Bluff, watching Aquaman at the Jam Factory, an indigenous festival in St. Kilda and a BBQ at Rick and Liz’s farm in Tuerong with the extended MITS family.

After school there has been lots of basketball, football, running around, fitness sessions, craft activities and board games. Many have ventured across the road to St. Kevin’s and down the street to Citizen’s Park as we begin to explore Richmond and the surrounding areas.

The students are developing strong friendships and have settled into their routines including making their beds, washing, chores, getting ready to walk to school and going to bed on time.

Congratulations to all students, families and staff on a sensational start to the year. Bring on 2019!
