Library News

We had a lovely day on Monday celebrating Library Lovers' Day. Many staff contributed hearts with love quotes from literature and students wrote about their love of libraries. There are pink hearts all over our workroom window; a lovely, positive thing to see as you walk into the Library, and everyone is stopping to read them.

Here are a few of my favourites:

“A library is a space to share and learn as a community.”

“I love the library because it is peaceful.”

“I love how quiet the library is and the comic books. I would love to live right next to one.” Harry (Me too Harry!)

“I like that everyone gets to share books.”

“I like reading because you learn things and it is entertaining to read before you go to sleep.”

One of the things I (Ms Couper) love most about a library is its sense of community. Libraries are a shared space where we come together to share our love of stories, literature, passions and information. We come to find out more and to new something new. Whether you come to read quietly on your own or connect with others, our door is always open to students, staff and the school community. We are here to help with your reading and information needs.

My favourite love quotes come from none other than Winnie the Pooh.

Piglet-  "How do you spell love?"

Pooh Bear-  "You don't spell it, you feel it."  A.A. Milne

“If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day, so I never have to live without you.” Pooh Bear

Happy Library Lovers' Day to you all.
