ICT Policy

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I would like to bring to your attention that there are a small number of students using software that is not permitted at school.

Certain VPN software allows students to bypass our filtering system, allowing students to access any website they like which can include, but are not limited to, adult websites and websites that can contain malicious software. Accessing such sites is a breach of the ICT agreement signed by all students.

Technicians are actively monitoring the school network and devices for VPN software that assists students in bypassing school monitoring and filtering systems. Using these sites becomes a risk to not only the school network, but to individual students as they can download malicious software without even knowing. The company behind the software that students are currently using is open about the fact that it does not provide an extra layer of security and is purely for bypassing enterprise filtering systems to open up the web.

We expect that students will cease using the software immediately and that parents will discuss with their children the importance of adherence to our ICT policy.
