"Harvest of Resilience": Kempsey High School Shines at Wakakirri 

Kempsey High School made a strong impression at this year's Wakakirri event with their performance titled "Harvest of Resilience." In the show, 21 students from the school showcased the journey of the local farming community on the Mid North Coast, reflecting their unwavering spirit in overcoming challenges like droughts, fires, and floods. 

The performance beautifully depicted the connection between the school and the region's agricultural community. The judges and audience were deeply touched by the genuine passion and emotion the students conveyed in telling the story. The judges commended the powerful storytelling and the authentic representation of Kempsey High School's identity. 

As a result of their outstanding performance, Kempsey High School was honored with the prestigious 'Spirit of Wakakirri' award. This recognition not only celebrated the school's dedication to the arts but also acknowledged their strong spirit and resilience.  

The performance served as a bridge between the school, the community, and the shared Dunghutti land. It celebrated the collective strength, determination, and commitment to growth in the face of adversity. Through the students' artistic expression and the teachers' guidance, the performance became an inspiring symbol of hope.
