NAPLAN 2023 - starts this week
This year the official NAPLAN testing window for all schools around Australia starts in Term 1 on Wednesday 15 March (Week 7) and concludes on Monday 27 March (Week 9).
During this time our Year 7 and Year 9 students will be completing four online NAPLAN tests:
- Writing
- Reading
- Conventions of Language (spelling, grammar and punctuation)
- Numeracy
The testing sessions will be spread across the ten-day testing window. Students will complete no more than one test in a single day and will attend their timetabled lessons when not completing a NAPLAN test. It is expected that students attend all classes to ensure that they do not have gaps in their learning and are setting themselves up for success in 2023.
NAPLAN tests will be conducted online on Staughton College devices. Students will be given time in Week 5 to practise using the online system before the official NAPLAN testing.
If students would like to familiarise themselves with the online version of NAPLAN, there is an online practice test available for anyone to explore at any time: https://www.nap.edu.au/online-assessment/public-demonstration-site
The information that NAPLAN provides to the college is one of a variety of tools that assists our leaders and teaching staff to meet the needs of all our learners through dedicated intervention programs and in-class support. NAPLAN also provides information for families about how their children are progressing along their learning journey.
