Principal's Report

Vision

At Staughton our vision is to have a deeply connected community that creates a nurturing and supportive school culture. We want to engage all of our students with a quality education for the whole student that prepares them for their future.

Values

Learning   Effort    Respect    Care   Connection

Our school vision and values have been on display in a number of extra curricula areas recently. We take seriously the idea that student’s abilities and interests outside the classroom are an important part of their school experience, and help to develop connection and care across our Staughton Family. Over the last week or so we have had a number of successes in this area:

  • Our under 16 boys rugby side has made the state finals
  • Our division swimmers went out on Wednesday with Ella Bristow, Kara Wilson, Spencer Davies, Mitchell Davies, Dakota Tan-Bautista, Emelia Bulmer, Victoria Barnes and Tamara Henry, all making it into the regional finals
  • Big numbers at soccer
  • Our senior boys cricket team have won their division final to move to the next level of competition
  • A large number of students are stying behind every Monday for soccer traing with Deng and Jibril
  • Our S factor final featured spectacular performances from solo artists and bands.

This week NAPLAN online testing begins. It is important that students take the same level of dedication and put in the same amount of effort as the students in the successful extra curricular activities above have. We have been really pleased with the effort shown by students in classrooms so far this year and we are confident that this is what we will see in NAPLAN testing over the next couple of weeks at years 7 & 9.

We, at Staughton College, would like to show our respect and acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which our school is situated, of elders past and present. We extend a warm welcome to everyone who visits our school.
