THE LIGHTON FAMILY'S STORY

On Monday 17 October, Mackenzie Lighton (Class of 2020) will be shaving her head to raise money for Reflections, a charity whose purpose is to raise awareness of the dangers of asbestos exposure and reduce the impact that it has on families and our community. She has chosen to do this in honour of her mum, Debra, Nonno Orlando, Nonna Lucia, Uncle Stephen and all of the other victims and survivors of Wittenoom, a town in WA's north where blue asbestos was mined. Mackenzie's sister, Jorja, is currently in Year 11 at the College.

Mackenzie's core message for all families is to not go to Wittenoom nor take risks around any type of asbestos.
