YEAR 11 SEMESTER TWO EXAMINATIONS

A reminder that Year 11 students who are currently studying ATAR courses will sit their Semester Two Examinations between Monday 7 November and Friday 18 November. The Examination Timetable will be finalised and published in the near future.

YEAR 12 SEMESTER TWO EXAMINATIONS

Year 12 Semester Two Examinations (Mock/Trial WACE Examinations) will commence on Monday 3 October (Week 2 of the school holidays) and conclude on Friday 14 October (Week 1, Term 4).

  • Any Year 12 student who is studying an ATAR course is required to complete Semester Two Examinations.
  • Students are encouraged to use their course syllabus and past examination papers as primary tools in preparing for their examinations. The majority of examinations will be held in the Koort Centre.
  • A copy of the Semester Two Timetable and Examination Rules can be found HERE. Students should familiarise themselves with all Examination Rules and Regulations.
  • College gates will be open for students during the holidays. The majority of examinations will be held in the Margaret McInerney Centre (MLC 6/7).
  • Sacred Heart has employed external supervisors to provide students with an authentic rehearsal of what they will experience during the ATAR Examinations.
  • In the event of illness or other form of misadventure, students and/or their parents/caregivers should immediately contact Mr Tony Budas or me via email.

YEAR 12 ATAR EXAMINATIONS

Personalised examination timetables for the practical and written ATAR course examinations are now available and can be accessed via SCSA's Student Portal.

Students must bring a hard copy of their personalised examination timetable to each examination.

Students who are enrolled for ATAR courses must complete an ATAR Examination (practical and written). Failure to complete examinations will mean that the student will NOT have completed the course and this may jeopardise the student’s achievement of WACE.

PRACTICAL ATAR EXAMINATIONS

When completing an external practical WACE Examination, students must ensure they do NOT bring their school bag and do NOT wear their College uniform or any form of clothing that will identify them as a Sacred Heart College student. Severe penalties apply for students who breach this examination requirement.

Candidates are required to sign in their personal examination timetable prior to the examination. This signed timetable must be shown to the supervisor, with photographic ID when registering at the examination venue for the practical (performance) examination. Digital copies of your timetable (e.g. on a mobile telephone) are not permitted.

A student is identified only by their allocated WA student number (WASN).  The school attended by a student must NOT be identified under any circumstance.

Each student should also have received a hard copy of their practical WACE Examination form from their subject teacher.

Students completing practical WACE Examinations are encouraged to continually login to the Student Portal to check their personal timetable and see if there has been a change in venue.

SICKNESS/MISADVENTURE FORMS FOR PRACTICAL EXAMINATIONS

Sickness/Misadventure Forms for practical examinations must be submitted in person to SCSA as soon as possible after the actual day of the practical examination.

If a student is ill on the day of the practical examination and not able to complete their examination, they are required to visit a medical practitioner on the day of the examination. The student must ensure they have a medical certificate from the medical practitioner and as much documentation as possible to substantiate their illness. Students are then required to physically submit a Sickness and Misadventure Form to SCSA as soon as possible after the day of the practical examination.

SICKNESS/MISADVENTURE FORMS FOR WRITTEN EXAMINATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED IN PERSON TO SCSA BY TUESDAY 22 NOVEMBER, 2022.

In the event of illness or misadventure, students/parents/families must complete the Sickness/Misadventure Application Form ATAR Course Examinations 2022 and physically hand them in to SCSA by 4:00pm on Tuesday 22 November, 2022. The Sickness/Misadventure Committee, which includes a medical practitioner, assesses each claim. For claims that are approved by the Sickness/Misadventure Committee, students are awarded either their actual examination mark or a derived mark, whichever is the higher. These provisions are designed to apply to students who perform below expectations because of sickness or misadventure.

Parents will need to provide medical evidence to support any application. Please note that long-term illness falls outside the SCSA's policy and guidelines for sickness/misadventure. Students will not receive any consideration unless they have suffered an acute episode of the illness during the examination period.

Parents/carers are requested to contact Mr Tony Budas if there is any possibility of their child missing an ATAR examination due to sickness and or misadventure.
