YEAR 12s COMPLETE ELECTRIC GUITAR PROJECT

It has been a busy final year for the Year 12 Materials Design & Technology Wood General students. Amongst COVID-19 and moving into the new Technologies Centre, the class still undertook many innovative processes this year.

Each student used Fusion 360, an online industry standard drawing package, to design their very own electric guitar. The Year 12s selected their individual components and manufactured their own design using the College's Computer Numerical Control (CNC) router. The laser cutter was also utilised in the construction process for many custom parts.

Whilst looking deceivingly simple, the boys discovered that building electric guitars required working precisely and having a good eye for detail in order to produce a fine instrument. Through the experience of building this project, they learnt such attributes as persistence and patience.

Well done to each of the students: they should be proud of their efforts and achievements.
