Top Designs

The Year 11 and 12 Product Design Fashion students spent a morning at the Melbourne Museum at the end of term to visit Top Designs and listen to Christina Exie give a keynote talk.

Christina is a Fashion Designer who is currently working on her signature collection for Bardot.  Christina has over 10 year’s global fashion industry experience.  Her focus is creative direction, design and product development.  She graduated from RMIT and won the inaugural Project Runway Australia, which led to the launch of her luxury women’s brand ‘Eponymous’.

Christina has also designed for Sneakerboy, Rhodes and Beckett, Herringbone and internationally with Esprit.   Her experience and anecdotes captivated the audience of 'would be' Designers and later the students viewed the folio and designs that represented the Top Designs of student work in the state from last year’s VCE Product Design Students.

There was much energy and discussion amongst the students around the concepts of the designs from the exhibition, and interesting reflections from Christina Exie’s presentation.  It was very evident how her travels and experiences have consistently given her a source of inspiration.
