2019 Visual Arts and Technology Exhibition

The 2019 Visual Arts and Technology Exhibition was a beautiful showcase of student work held in the PAC from the 21st – 25th October, showing off the talent and large variety of skills amongst GEC students from Year 7 to Year 12.

Artworks and projects were on display from Visual Arts, Food Technology, Media, Materials Technology, Photography and Visual Communication, but the most exciting part of the exhibition week was the opening night.

Monday the 21st October was the open night for the exhibition, where parents, friends, relatives and fellow students could walk around the exhibition from 5:30pm - 7:00pm. It was a wonderful evening with food served for the viewing guests by Rush Shah and Anaelle Micciche

and a showing of short films created by a variety of the school’s Media students. Guests were also entertained by musicians Caitlin Blair, Susi Staples, Evelyn Krelle and Talia Hannah on violin and Richard Shao on piano.

An awards ceremony occurred on the night in which the Principal, Sheereen Kindler, and a representative from Deans Art, Kerry Williams, handed awards to Year 10-12 students who excelled in Art and Visual Communication.

Year 10 Visual Arts – Dorothy Vuong

Year 11 Art – Anastasia Kirpitchenko

Year 12 Art – Sierra Danon

Year 10 Visual Communication Design – James Mazis

Year 11 Visual Communication Design – Lily Gordon

Overall, I am immensely proud of the exhibition and all the student creations that were shown during this time. As both a GEC student and the Visual Arts Captain, I believe the 2019 Visual Arts and Technology Exhibition was a huge success and I cannot wait for the next one.
