Transition

We will commence our 2020 timetable on Monday 2nd December.  Students going into Years 11 and 12 in 2020 will have one week of transition classes.  They will receive documents relating to each subject and its expectations and preparation that should be completed prior to returning next year.

Students going into Years 8 – 10  in 2020 will have two weeks of transition classes.

In the final week of the school year we will run an alternate program.

Prior to transition commencing, Year 12 2020 students will participate in the process for nominating for School Captain.  All other student leadership positions will be determined during transition.

Scholarships

There are a number of scholarships available for students.  For Information about scholarships offered at Glen Eira College please go to the Scholarships page under About Us on our website. The closing date for applications for 2020 scholarships is Friday 29th November 2019.

Grounds Development

Oval Redevelopment:  This week we will finalise the plans for the oval redevelopment and prepare to go to tender.

Outdoor Learning Area:  This week we will meet with the architects who will manage the redevelopment of the currently unused area adjacent to the Biology and Chemistry classrooms.

Kitchen Garden: We will begin to plan our kitchen garden to be developed near the Food Technology area.  I am very grateful to have David Southwick, MP, assist us in getting started.  He has organised for Jane Edmanson, gardening expert, to come to Glen Eira College to discuss the garden and planting.

We need someone to tidy up some existing garden beds and mulch our garden in preparation for the summer.  If you know anyone who may be interested in this employment opportunity,  please let me know.
