Thank you to our talented College band for their superb performances of ‘Earth, Wind & Fire’ and 'Georgia on my mind' during the evening.

The college would also like to recognise all the effort, support and care that has brought these amazing students to this point in their education. Working together as a school, family and community to help the next generation achieve their full potential.

As we wrap up the academic year we would like to reflect on the incredible work of our students and staff.  Returning to a full year of on site learning, this is the first time that any student in the Junior School has spent a whole year in class at Keysborough College! Students have taken up the challenges set for them by their teachers, and their growth (both academic, social and personal) over the year has been fantastic.

The year has seen so many wonderful achievements for our students with Wakkakiri winning a national award, a number of sports teams making it to the State championships, several students being recognised for their outstanding achievements in Numeracy, Literacy and Science through NAPLAN, the Australian Mathematics competition and CSIRO competitions.

Last month the Year 7-11 college Presentation evening was celebrated at the Drum Theatre. The evening was a huge success with over 150 students across the college being recognised for their tremendous efforts during 2022. Students were recognised across many categories: RED, Endeavour, Sport, Performing Arts, Academic awards, Dux of Year level, Scholarship winners and Community award Winners.

A special mention goes to Linh Do, Jasmine Nguyen and Breanna Tucker who have all received a Harding Miller scholarship to help support their education during Years 9 and 10. These scholarships will provide the girls with up to $2,500 toward their education including a  laptop, access to tutoring and support from a learning mentor.

This term our 2023 Student leaders were formally presented to the College at their campus Leadership assemblies. We are extremely proud to present the 2023 Junior school student leaders (our Year 7 student leaders will be selected during Term 1).

Congratulations to the Year 8 E-sports team that competed at the Silverton’s tournament and special mention to Christian Gauci and Alex Nguyen for winning the Lower Bracket section of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

The last few weeks of classes have continued to be very important to our Junior school students as we have transitioned into Headstart. During these weeks students have had the opportunity to meet their 2023 teachers, meet new classmates and undertake learning in their new classes.

We have also continued to conduct a number of activities designed to prepare the Grade 6 students that will be joining us in 2023 with their transition into college. Our transition programs have

included; Thrive (designed to support vulnerable students);  TAP (a transition assistance program

for students who are joining us without any primary school peers) and Orientation day, where all our 2023 Year 7 students experienced a day in the life of Keysborough College.

Over the Summer holidays we would also like to also promote the fantastic & free opportunities that the Greater Dandenong Council has to offer for young people looking to get involved over the break - activities include: Plays at the Drum Theatre, Children’s Exhibition, Noble Park Aquatic Centre activities, outdoor movies just to mention few.  For more details please visit: https://www.greaterdandenong.vic.gov.au/school-holiday-activities

We wish everyone a safe and happy summer holiday period and we look forward to leading Junior School in 2023.
