Improvement Team Report
Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Improvement Team
Newsletter
Throughout the year the Curriculum, Assessment & Reporting Improvement team have continued to provide support across the college. This has been achieved by providing alignment of the curriculum, assessment & reporting processes, which is particularly important within our large, multi-campus school.
Our team has worked closely with the Curriculum Learning Area leaders to provide guidance on the development of the college curriculum, supporting our students with their course selections by updating the College handbooks, increasing VET subject choices offered within Keysborough Secondary College and managing the required textbook lists for 2023.
We have overseen the college reporting processes by setting the college reporting timelines used in 2022, revising the reporting format which included embedding the 5P’s learning behaviours into our Progress & Semester reports. Our work on this also included providing students & parents with resources to help build their understanding of how to interpret and support their child with their education.
To support assessment within the college, our team set the Junior and Senior school assessment timeline. To support student inclusion, we developed a college special provisions and assessment modification policy that helped identify and make accommodations that allowed all students to participate fully in their Semester examinations.
As we reach the end of the year, parents and students will receive their Semester Two reports via Compass. Please take the time to read over the report carefully, celebrate your child’s accomplishments, identify their strengths and areas for improvement. Don’t forget to consider the teacher recommendations, as they provide important feedback on how your child can make the most of their education, whilst at Keysborough Secondary College.
If you need assistance accessing Compass or have not previously accessed the College Compass portal – please contact your child’s sub-school for access support and instructions.
The 2022 Curriculum, Assessment & Reporting Improvement team wishes everyone a safe and happy summer break. Regards - Melissa Williams-Davis, Danielle Dalton, Nicole Wilson, Ashleigh Phillips, Katina Dukellis, Kiara Kearney & Natalie Fode.
